DKNY4 in NYC June 8 - 13, 2009
We feel that dancers should experience as much as possible to grow into
better dancers and even better people. This includes guest teachers,
unique classes, performing opportunities, varying styles and for 14 lucky
dancers this year – a trip to New York City! Every other year, we offer this
amazing trip to teachers, assistant teachers and dancers who work
exceptionally hard in their many classes. The dancers will take private
lessons from professional  faculty at both “Steps on Broadway” and
“Broadway Dance Center.” They will also join open classes at both studios
in such styles as ballet, contemporary, flexibility, Latin jazz, tap, street jazz,
hip-hop, vocal and theatre. The group will see two Tony award-winning
shows, “In The Heights” and “The Lion King.”

This year’s youngest traveler, Jessie Dubas, is only 12 years old but her
talent and dedication have earned her a rightful spot on the trip. Jessie
takes five classes per week at Hart Dance Academy and excels in all styles.
The three teachers and 11 students attending this year are all looking
forward to expanding their dance skills and being inspired. And for the
teachers, getting to be students again is always a great benefit to bring
back to the kids here in Lincoln.
